Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson was at the centre of media attention overnight when a number of radio appearances from his commentating position on the shock jock radio program ‘Bubba the Love Sponge’ between 2006 and 2011 were all put on one long clip.
The ‘Media Matters for America’ put the audio clips of what they called ‘misogynistic and perverted comments’ by the current television star into one long segment which, if listened to in that manner, indeed could be interpreted as coming from the mind of someone who has a touch for the extreme.
Mr Carlson reacted to the clips being unearthed on Twitter, stating : ‘Media Matters caught me saying something naughty on a radio show more than a decade ago.’
‘Rather than express the usual ritual contrition, how about this: I’m on television every weeknight live for an hour. If you want to know what I think, you can watch. Anyone who disagrees with my views is welcome to come on and explain why.’
