Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook confirmed the news everyone dreaded to hear, namely that 21 year-old Miss Samantha Josephson (called ‘Sammy’ by her friends), who went missing in Columbia, South Carolina, early Friday, had been found dead. Her body had in fact been found by hunters who declared it has been dumped in a rural Claredon County spot
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man known as Nathaniel David Rowland has been arrested over her kidnap and murder. Police claim they found Samantha’s blood, cell phone and bleach in Mr Rowland’s car.
Security footage showed how young Samantha got into the black Chevy Impala at around 2am on Friday morning, believing it was the Uber she had called. She did so leaving from a night out with a group of friends in the Five Points area.
Columbia Police Department Chief Skip Holbrook: ‘She had, in fact, summoned an Uber ride. She was waiting for that Uber ride to come, we believe. She simply mistakenly got into this car thinking it was an Uber ride.’
‘Our hearts are broken, they’re broken. There is nothing tougher than to stand before a family and explain how a loved one was murdered. It was gut wrenching, words really can’t describe what they’re going through.’
