Burger King Removes New Zealand Giant Chopsticks Ad (Video)

Burger King had launched a clip featuring western people trying to eat a ‘Vietnamese’ burger with oversized chopsticks and was slammed on social media.

Just as with the Chocolate ducks earlier today in the UK (see former coverage), a debate was launched as to whether the advert is harmless fun or culturally insensitive and racist.

A clip of the advert posted to Twitter by Maria Mo, a Korean woman living in New Zealand, has been viewed more than 2.9 million times.

ckASa07yQR1Ad_-pPKlZShe stated: “I’m so sick of racism of any kind. Of the kind that makes fun of different cultures. Say no to every single manifestation of it.”
