Reporter Kelli Tennant accuses Sacramento Kings Coach Luke Walton of wanting to sexually abuse her during an alleged 2014 encounter in his hotel room.
During a news conference, given only one day after TMZ reported that she was suing Walton, she explained: ‘I thought he was going to rape me.’
31-year-old Miss Tennant says that 39-year-old Walton attacked her when he was an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, which was from 2014 to 2016.
However Mr Walton’s attorney, Mark Baute, claims that the allegations are ‘baseless’.
Miss Tennant explained: ‘Out of nowhere, he got on top of me and pinned me down to the bed and held my arms down with all of his weight while he kissed my neck and my face and my chest.’
Tennant said that she asked him to get off of numerous times and ‘he laughed at me’.
She said Walton relented and she started to leave the room when he grabbed her again and kissed her ears and neck.
He finally stopped, laughed and said ‘good to see you’ before she left the room, Tennant said.
She said she confided with people at the time but never filed charges.
‘I was scared,’ she said. ‘I felt coming forward would jeopardize every aspect of my life.’
