Scary images shot during a men’s volleyball match in Brazil this week. When the play was paused during the opening game of the Superliga finals between SESI São Paulo and EMS Taubaté FUNVIC, Jaqueline Carvalho was asked what she thought so far.
And she knows what she’s talking about, because she won Olympic gold at the 2008 Games in Beijing and at the 2012 London Olympics.
However this time the interview was quite short: Carvalho, 35 in the meantime and super popular in her country of origin, soon collapsed and luckily journalist Fabíola Andrade was able to catch her before she would fall to the ground.
Then several of the players also came to the rescue, as did the SESI team doctor. He later told Veja, a Brazilian news medium, that Carvalho had a blood pressure drop due to the heat in the arena.
