The saying goes that there even at the darkest of skies, there is always a silver lining. Such was also the case for 20-year-old Miss Thea Lauryn Chippendale, who received a message on Tinder from her date, a man known as George, who described her outfit as a “charity shop job.”
Her tweet went viral – with more than 98,000 likes and 7,000 retweets – and she received loads of messages of support.
In the end Asos, who sells the dress Thea was wearing, has now decided to use that picture to sell more dresses like it, with multiple people saying they only bought the item because of the story.
Thea said: “I am still very in a state of shock this is all happening, purely from someone just being horrible to me.”
“I can’t believe something so negative has turned into something so positive.”
