The black boxes of the Russian Aeroflot aircraft that caught fire at an airport near Moscow on Sunday during an emergency landing are badly damaged. That’s because they were exposed to high temperatures during the fire, reports the Russian intergovernmental air traffic committee (MAK) to the Russian news agency Interfax.
Despite the damage, the information has been well preserved. “All flight information is copied,” it sounds. The analysis of the data will take a few days.

The flight details and the conversations are stored in the cockpit on the black boxes. That data can be of great importance to find out the cause of the accident. The boxes are so robust that they normally have to come out of an accident undamaged.
41 people were killed in the accident at Sheremetyev airport
