The German ‘Grundlichkeit’ or efficiency from time to time works a bit too well. The speeding camera had probably not been integrated with any Facebook or Google AI just yet, becayse otherwise the Bocholt police would have realized that it’s system was about to send a fine to a speeding … pigeon.
The pigeon in question seemed to be in a hurry to get back to it’s nest as it was caught flying at 45 kilometers per hour in a 30 kilometer zone.
As German law allows a 10% adjustment of the limit, the computer simply started counting as from 33 kilometers per hour and thus said: 12 kilometers per hour too fast. Fine: 25 Euro.
