Argentine striker Sergio Aguero admitted afterwards he had some pretty bad advice for captain Vincent Kompany when he admitted in front of the cameras: ‘I told you Vinnie, don’t shoot.’
But it was all in vain. With a phenomenal strike, Belgian international Vincent Kompany decided the match against Leicester and might have also won the title for his team.
With one match remaining, City still has 1 point over Liverpool.
Teammates Aguero and Jesus both told Kompany after the match that they were shouting to him ‘don’t shoot’. Sterling and Kyle Walker both said the same thing on Instagram.
Even coach Pep Guardiola thought the same thing.
“Don’t Shoot, Pass, Pass, that’s what I thought,” admitted Guardiaola over at Sky Sports afterwards.
“But I have to admit he made a terrific decision to shoot.”
