Legendary thriller writer Ms Agathie Christie could not have imagined a better plot opening than the one seen in Germany this weekend.
Imagine the setting: a rustic hotel in the countryside near Passau (pictured), everybody wakes up for breakfast, all of a sudden a scream is heard as a maid finds blood dripping from underneath a hotel door. Inside the room, police find three lifeless bodies and, surprisingly, two crossbows. None of the other guests heard anything.
That is exactly what took place over the weekend in Bavaria in Southern Germany.
Local press near the German city of Passau on the Austrian border were stunned on Saturday after police reported the discovery of a highly unusual crime scene. Three bodies and two crossbows were found in the room of a guesthouse on the banks of the Ilz river.
Bavarian media have reported that the dead were two women, aged 31 and 33, and a 54-year-old man. All bodies had arrows in them.
All guests told the Passauer Neue Presse daily that it was a “completely quiet night,” and that they hadn’t seen or heard anything suspicious.
Sherlock needed I reckon.
