Hours before the US’s First Couple was due to arrive at one of London’s other airports, a man in a training suit walked around Gatwick airport holding two large knives.
The incident occurred around 2am at night.
Police quickly tasered the man. No information as to his identity has been given so far.
In a statement Sussex Police said they had responded to an incident in the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport around 2am on Monday 3 June.
They added: ”A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon (knives) and making threats to kill, and remains in police custody.”
